How this pay calculator works

Enter your hourly rate and pick a currency in the settings bar, then log your shifts the same way you would on a timesheet — start time, end time, and any break. As soon as both a rate and a shift are entered, your gross pay appears next to your total hours and updates automatically as you add more rows or adjust a time.

This calculates gross pay — hours worked multiplied by your rate — not net/take-home pay, since taxes and deductions vary by location and employer. It's the number you'd check against a pay stub before deductions, or use to estimate earnings for a shift, week, or pay period in advance.

Turning hourly pay into other numbers

Once you know your hourly rate and a typical week's hours, you can estimate a rough annual figure by multiplying your weekly total by the number of weeks you work. If some of your hours are paid at a higher overtime rate, turn on the Overtime toggle and set your threshold and OT rate — the regular and overtime portions of your pay are then calculated and shown separately.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my pay from hours worked? Enter your hourly rate and currency at the top, then log your shifts as usual. Total pay — hours multiplied by your rate — appears automatically next to your total hours.

Does this calculate gross pay or net pay? Gross pay — your hours multiplied by your hourly rate, before taxes and other deductions. Net/take-home pay depends on your specific tax situation and isn't something a generic calculator can determine accurately.

Can I calculate pay with overtime included? Yes. Turn on the Overtime toggle, set your weekly hours threshold and your overtime rate, and the calculator splits your pay into regular and overtime amounts automatically.

Can I use this to estimate a full pay period? Yes — keep adding rows for every shift in the pay period (weekly, biweekly, or monthly) and the running total reflects the full period, not just a single day.

Does it support currencies other than USD? Yes. Choose USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AUD, or CAD from the currency dropdown — all totals update to that currency's symbol immediately.
